ABOUT DUST & DAiSiES
Dust & DaisiesWith a name that evokes earthiness and simplicity, Dust & Daisies’ soulful, organic brand of rock certainly lives up to the moniker. The Nashville-based band has forged a distinctive sound that has earned them an enthusiastic fan base as well as the respect of industry professionals.

Their debut EP features well-written, modern songs dripping with nostalgic flavor; from the Motown-inspired grooves of "Turns Out" and “Just The Same”, to the foot-stomping gospel rock of “Gloryand”, to the rhythm-and-blues fueled "No Other Love". With insightful lyrics that touch on universal subjects - love, loss, brokenness, healing – their songs are delivered passionately through the soulful singing of Deb Solberg and the adept guitar accompaniment of her husband Rob.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, they were brought together in through music; Rob was recording a demo of original songs and needed a strong female singer. A mutual friend introduced him to Deb and the rest, as they say, is history. They began writing and performing together under Deb’s solo name (Debra Soule) and released three full-length CDs and played hundreds of shows together. They also started a commercial audio company through which they wrote and performed on hundreds of radio ads, jingles, sound tracks, and TV commercials.

Deb is a songwriter, session singer, and professional voice talent. Rob is an accomplished musician and composer whose orchestral arrangements have been performed live and recorded by the Nashville Praise Symphony. Between the two of them, they have performed live and in the studio with many artists including Matthew West, Rebecca St. James, Michael W. Smith, Billy Ray Cyrus, David Crowder and Ginny Owens. And together they make up two-thirds of the John Schlitt Trio, providing acoustic guitar and vocal accompaniment for the 4-time Grammy winning Christian rock singer.

Rob & Deb have also been members of the Sunday worship band at The People's Church in Franklin, TN since 2005 and have been leading worship at their Celebrate Recovery services since 2010.

Dust & Daisies’ strengths are showcased not only through their unique musical blend, but their name as well. “We wanted a band name that was simple and down to earth, since our music is very organic.” Explains Rob. “But we also wanted something that evokes a sense of timeless and something bigger than ourselves, because that’s where we feel our songs come from. We settled on ‘Dust & Daisies’ because it represents a sort of ‘circle of life’ concept - new life rising from the earth in spring, but also the end of our lives here on earth…dust-to-dust.”

Dust & Daisies’ songs are marked by emotional honesty and a riveting transparency. Their first single, “No Other Love” was inspired by the work the two do in an addiction and recovery ministry called Celebrate Recovery.

Deb explains, “We hear first-hand these amazing stories of men and women who once were in the clutches of horrible additions, but through giving God control over their lives - and with the support of other people who have walked that path - they have now turned their lives around. Its so inspiring to see people restored physically and emotionally, marriages healed, families brought back together. That’s where this song came from.”

And, indeed this theme of hope and healing runs strong through both their original music and their concerts as a whole. Whether they’re performing as an acoustic duo or with a full band they never fail to engage and move their audiences with their passionate performances and earthy, organic style.
